DEACONS’ NEWS

Thank You, Thank You!!

The Board of Deacons wishes to express its gratitude in the response of all members and friends who provided the ingredients for the Thanksgiving Baskets Project. Once again Henderson Presbyterian Church reached out to the community with love to ensure that others would have a blessed Thanksgiving. This is always a big undertaking and all who contributed in different ways made it possible for the Deacons to carry on this ministry in your name.

The Board of Deacons wants to wish all of the families and friends of Henderson Presbyterian Church a very blessed Christmas. May the New Year 2005 continue to be a blessing to us as God’s children. May we be a blessing to others by giving them love, hope, joy, and peace!

Angels Sighted At HPC

On Sunday, December 5th, the branches of a very special Christmas tree in our sanctuary will be adorned with "angels." On each paper angel will be written the name and age of a neighborhood child whose parents will need our help to make sure that Santa arrives on time this year. Each child will have listed his or her most-hoped-for toy, book, or game; and Mom or Dad will have listed an article of clothing and size that each child might need. Your part is simple: on the 5th you select an angel from the tree. You’ll then have two weeks to purchase a gift for your special new friend. You can go together with another family or a friend; you can buy either a toy or an article of clothing, or both. The important thing is to have fun and to feel good about sharing the joy of Christmas. Your gifts should be wrapped and tagged (you can use the same angel that you took off the tree) and returned to the tree in the sanctuary no later than Sunday, December 19th. The children’s parents will be asked to pick up the gifts on Tuesday, December 22nd at the church. With your help, our Angel Tree can be a very special expression of God’s love this Christmas.

Christian Education News

The Children’s Christmas Pageant, "Symbols of Christmas," written by Candace Bush, will be held on Sunday, December 12th at both services. Let’s show our children just how much we LOVE them. Come and enjoy this child’s view of the birth of the Christ Child.

REMINDER!!

There are a number of ways to grow in the Lord here at the church. Attend Wednesday Evening Bible Study, Women’s Bible Study, Sunday School for pre-K through 8th grade, attend the youth group on Tuesdays, join the Daytimers group, sing in the choir, volunteer, or pray for our church! Everyone is welcome at any time!
