September 2006 Class Schedule

Yes class, it’s September and time to return to your books. Your assignment, if you choose, is to read the Old Testament Book of Exodus! (P.S. If you don’t have a Bible, just let us know.)

Each Sunday, the class will hear of the mighty Moses, Pharaoh, the Exodus, the Wandering in the Wilderness, and of course, The Ten Commandments. Heard of those? Although on Sunday, September 17th, Preacher Doyel and others of our church will be on an exodus ourselves, as all of us journey to Reno, Nevada for the Fall Presbytery! It is there in the Presbytery meeting at Covenant Presbyterian Church that I perhaps will ascend to the high and august office as Moderator of the Presbytery of Nevada. I do hope that you all will learn to bow very graciously and low upon my triumphant return to MY church! (P.S. I will also need your help—yes, a great deal!)

So, roll up your sleeves and read your Bible, because we are all going on some new adventures!!!!

~Preacher, Pharaoh, Doyel

LIBRARY

The book cart in the church is for Christian fiction only. Please save secular items for the Daytimers’ sale.

Thank you.

Thank You!

Mrs. Ross Salter, Lucille, and her family would like to say a very special "Thank You" to all of you for the kindness shown to the family during this very sad time in their lives. The church was filled to capacity with family and friends. A very special couple to Ross and Lucille, Jay and Cindy Neal, played and sang a beautiful song during the service. Many phone calls from all over were received, not only at their home, but the church office was also busy. Many calls came in wanting to say they had heard about Ross and wanting to pass on their condolences to Lucille. Ross was a big part of Henderson Presbyterian Church, and will truly be missed by all.

DAYTIMERS

Annual Fall Sale

The Daytimers’ Annual Fall Sale will be held next month—

If you have some cleaning to do, PLEASE remember the Daytimers. IF you have room to box some things you’d like to donate and keep them for a few more weeks, that would be great! (Due to a lack of space and very stringent fire regulations, we cannot store items at the church! Sorry!) It would be very helpful if you could bring your items to the church as soon as the Daytimers are ready for them. Then stay here at church and work with the Daytimers’ group in helping to set things up. This is their project but it is a VERY BIG job, and they need all of us to help!! So, FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER, LET’S ALL SHOW UP AT LEAST ONE DAY AND STAY TO HELP FOR AT LEAST ONE HOUR!!

(Of course, you can stay longer if you have time!)
