CHRISTIAN EDUCATION NEWS

Don’t miss VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL!! Children grades K through 5 are invited to take part in Bible School Monday, July 25th through Friday, July 29th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Come and join in the fun as we explore Serengeti Trek—Where Kids Are Wild About GOD! We invite everyone to come for our closing each night at 7:40 PM. Even if you can’t come and help, you don’t want to miss the fun!

Anyone interested in helping? Please call Sue Lednicky at 257-5548 or 566-0755. We can always use a helping hand!

SUNDAY SCHOOL for grades K and up will resume on September 5th. Classes are from 9:30 AM to 10:20 AM. Grades K through 4 meet in the first floor Sunday school room and grades 5 and up meet in the Library. Please come and explore God’s love with us! Everyone of any age is welcome!

NEEDED!!

We need your clean, empty 1# (or thereabouts) coffee cans with lids for a Bible School project. Any type of can or container that resembles the shape and size of a coffee can would work. Please just bring them in and leave them on the table in the Sunday school room. Empty oatmeal containers with lids would work, too. Thanks everyone!

As many of you have noticed, our church building is in need of a little repair. You might too if you worked as hard as her for the past almost 50 years!! The Session has authorized a Renovation Fund to help with improvements. If you can help in any way, please write "FUND" on your check and place it in the offering plate. Thanks!

For Bad Days

By Richard W. Hobbs

When days are bad and things not right

You just don’t want to put up a fight

Put it in the hands of the One up above

Let Him make it right with His love

For He will give you all you need

To make it right and to succeed

The feeling you get when you come to him

Will make you feel good from your toes to your chin

So open your heart and let Him in

Let Him forgive you for your sins

And when those bad days come again

You can face them with a grin

Please consider the following items the next time you are shopping and would like to contribute to the Food Pantry:

  • Small cans of fruits and vegetables with pop-top lids
  • Granola or cereal bars
  • Individual boxes of cereal
  • Small cans of milk
  • Juice boxes
  • Small cans of entrees like ravioli, stew, tuna, soups, hash, all with pop-top lids
  • Crackers
  • Peanut butter
  • Cat food or dog food with pop-top lids
  • Bottled water or other beverages
  • Trail mix

Just look at the foods before you buy them and think about how you would eat them if you had nothing. Could you get the can open? Do you have to cook it before you can eat it? Do you need other ingredients to prepare it? Can you carry it around in extreme heat? If you don’t think you could eat that particular food, because of the way it is packaged or because it can’t be eaten cold, or because it needs other ingredients for preparation, then it probably won’t work for our folks. We thank you for all of your kindness and for all of the wonderful things you have done for our needy. And we hope that you will continue to support our Food Pantry!
