It’s time to look at the Disciple, Thomas again. He’s the one who came a week late to the party. There is even a Gospel of Thomas. The Coptic Church in the Middle East is almost founded upon that Gospel, as he evangelized in Egypt. Let’s take a look again at Thomas and ourselves in "Doubting Thomas."

Sunday, April 30, 2006

It’s time to take a lighter view of things as the sermon takes a look at Bible words, gossip, and faulty communications. Married couples are especially encouraged to attend.

Reading the Words

A cart with Christian fiction will be in the hall outside the library each week. Please help yourself. The bottom two rows of the cart will have books that are to be discarded or sent elsewhere. Please help yourself to any that interest you.

The library organization will be according to subject matter. This is an ongoing project, and well worth a look!

Morning Prayer
So far today
I’m doing all right.
I have not gossiped,
lost my temper.
been grumpy, greedy,
nasty
selfish,
or self-indulgent.
I have not
whined,
cursed,
or eaten any chocolate.
However, I am
going to get out of bed
in a few minutes,
and I will need a lot more help
after that.

Our church has two special funds. One is the Church Renovation Fund. This fund has been established by the Session to offset the cost of needed interior and exterior repairs and replacements. If you have questions concerning this fund, contact Building and Operations Chairman Rick Miller, and if you can help, please write "FUND" on your check and place it in the offering plate.

The second fund is the New Sign Fund. This fund has been established to pay for new signage on all corners of the grounds of our church property. Approximately $10,000 will be needed for this project. If you are able to help, please put "SIGN" on your check and place it in the offering plate. For more information on this project please contact Membership Chairman Chris Holman.
