January Sundays

Sunday, January 1, 2006 Communion

New Years Day! Join with Preacher Doyel and the church as we simply uplift the Christ in communion and a meditative sermon upon The Christ!

Sunday, January 8, 2006

With the New Year’s Day Communion uplifting the healing name of Christ Jesus, your preacher wants to take a moment about the world’s faiths. What do they say and what do Christians say about other faiths? What does Jesus say? Come and take a tour so you’ll have a sense of the world’s religions and how they affect our modern, complex world.

Sunday, January 15, 2006

Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King Jr. weekend.

Sunday, January 22, 2006

This is the annual service of Ordination and Installation of your New Elders and Deacons. Be here and support them—they need you!

Annual meeting between services at 9:30 AM.

Sunday, January 29, 2006

Your church building talks. Yes, it does. Your church building’s furnishings, exterior, and of course, your "well dressed," G.Q. material pastor ALL are an expression of evangelism. What does our building say to others? What does your church building SAY—I hope it’s not "Nobody care for me." It’s a new day and the sheriff’s guns are loaded for a laying down of the law for the caring of our building—Inside and Out! Sermon title, "Riot in the Temple!"

Christian Education News

The Children’s Christmas Pageant, "Peace on Earth," written by Candace Bush, was held on Sunday, December 11th at both services. Thank you so much for your support and kind remarks. Everyone had a great time. A special thanks to Candace for her wonderful writing and directing skills!

I will finish as Chair of Christian Education in January. It has been a real pleasure to work with the wonderful children of our church. Thanks to all of you who made my job a little easier. I hope that you will welcome Becky Sell as the new Chair with all the kindness that you showed me. Again, thanks for the opportunity.

~Sue Lednicky

Thank You!!

The Committee on Mission would like to thank each and every one of you who contributed gifts and kindness to the Angel Tree Project. Because of your goodness, we were able to make Christmas just a little brighter for OVER 140 children!

By Maya Angelou

When I say... "I am a Christian"

I'm not shouting "I'm clean livin'."
I'm whispering "I was lost,
Now I'm found and forgiven."

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble

and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak
And need His strength to carry on.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed
And need God to clean my mess.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible
But, God believes I am worth it.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I still feel the sting of pain.
I have my share of heartaches
So I call upon His name.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner
Who received God's good grace, somehow!

Our church now has three special funds.
One is the Church Renovation Fund. This fund has been established by the Session to offset the cost of needed interior and exterior repairs and replacements. If you have questions concerning this fund, contact Building and Operations Chairman Rick Miller, and if you can help, please write "FUND" on your check and place it in the offering plate.

The second newly established fund is the New Sign Fund. This fund has been established to pay for new signage on all corners of the grounds of our church property. Approximately $10,000 will be needed for this project. If you are able to help, please put "SIGN" on your check and place it in the offering plate. For more information on this project please contact Membership Chairman Chris Holman.

The third is the Memorial Windows Fund which is described in the box to the right.
